The Technology

Harmonic Resonance is the patented technology that drives Cybersonic. But what is harmonic resonance? Think of the brush head as a musical tuning fork. When you strike the tuning fork, it vibrates creating a perfect musical note. When you turn on a Cybersonic power handle, it makes each scientifically designed attachment vibrate at a specific frequency to create the perfect cleaning speed and action.

Every Cybersonic head has been carefully engineered – not just to move quickly – but to brush, floss and clean your tongue using the proper cleaning motion. No other oral care system in the world uses this amazing, simple and powerful technology. It’s what allows the Cybersonic toothbrushes to be the fastest oral care systems ever – moving from 31,000 strokes per minute in the original Cybersonic to a record 45,000 strokes per minute in the Cybersonic3. It also allows all of our attachments to cost so much less than the competition so your Cybersonic Oral Care System can pay for itself over time.

Good Oral Care Is About More Than Just Your Teeth…

Comprehensive Oral Care

Simply put, brushing is not enough. Although sonic toothbrushes perform better and faster than manual brushing, no toothbrush cleans between teeth and below the gum line as effectively as flossing. Failure to clean these areas thoroughly is a major cause of tooth decay, gingivitis, and gum disease. Bad breath may be more than just embarrassing. Most bad breath is caused by excessive bacteria on the tongue, teeth, and gums. Thorough tongue cleaning dramatically reduces the number of bacteria in your mouth; freshening your breath and protecting your teeth. Because good oral care is about more than just brushing, Cybersonic provides a complete oral care solution that includes sonic brushing, flossing, tongue cleaning, and tooth whitening.

Diabetes and Oral Care

Diabetes affects glucose levels and the body’s ability to fight infection. Combined, these two factors make diabetics especially prone to dental problems including tooth decay, periodontal (gum) disease, oral fungal infections (oral candidiasis), and oral lesions (lichen planus). Even when the condition is kept under control, diabetics are advised to be extra thorough in their oral care regimen. Sufferers should follow a comprehensive oral care routine including brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, routine flossing, and regular dentist visits.

Heart Disease and Oral Care

New research has discovered a link between poor oral care and heart disease. Recent studies have determined that bacteria from the gum line can travel throughout the circulatory system and are found in arterial plaques that cause hardening of the arteries and heart attacks. While a causal link has not been proven, the American Academy of Periodontology is recommending that people pay special attention to complete oral care, including cleaning between teeth and below the gum line, especially for those with other heart disease risk factors. An association has also been found between gum disease and Infective Endocarditis, a potentially fatal infection of the heart valves.

Strokes and Oral Care

University researchers have discovered a link between the risk of strokes and periodontal disease. Their research has demonstrated that persistent gum disease (periodontal disease) and poor oral health has a strong association with the risk of suffering from a stroke.

Pregnancy and Oral Care

Changes in hormone levels during pregnancy promote an inflammation termed pregnancy gingivitis. Research indicates that a decreased ability to fight off infections makes pregnant women more susceptible to tooth decay, gingivitis and other inflammations, and periodontal (gum) disease. Beyond the potential damage to the expectant mother’s teeth, serious periodontal disease has been linked to premature birth, low birth weight, and certain amniotic fluid infections.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will the Cybersonic system loosen crowns, fillings or other permanent dental work?

A: No, they are designed to be used for all dental work.

Q: How often should I replace my brush head?

A: Dentists recommend changing every three months. Your brush may not look worn but it is, and a worn brush does not clean well. With every Cybersonic system you have the option to get replacement brushes automatically every three months for free. You just pay a shipping and handling fee. You can change the frequency, stop, or restart this program at any time by contacting customer service.

Q: Does Cybersonic offer hard and soft bristle brushes?

A: All Cybersonic brushes use soft bristles. Dentists recommend soft bristled brushes because they clean better and do not risk damaging gums and tooth enamel the way hard brushes may. Worn toothbrush bristles of any hardness are not as effective. It is recommended that you change your brush routinely even if it does not appear worn.

Q: Is Cybersonic safe for a person with a pacemaker?

A: It is always advisable that a person with a special medical condition, including pacemakers, consult with a physician or pacemaker manufacturer.

Q: Can I travel with my Cybersonic?

A: Yes. A fully charged Cybersonic will hold a charge for at least a week of normal use, and the brush head cap keeps the bristles clean.

Q: Is Cybersonic suitable for kids?

A: Yes. The standard brush head is actually a perfect size for children. You may start your kids using the Cybersonic system at the same age you would a manual toothbrush. Parental supervision is always advised with a new oral cleaning product, especially under age 12.

Q: Why do I sometimes need to push the ON/OFF button more than once?

A: The electronic switch takes 1 second to re-set before it will respond to another push. Simply wait 1 second before pushing the button again.

Q: How do I purchase replacement attachments?

A: Replacement attachments may be purchased by calling customer service toll-free at 1-800-770-7525 or by visiting our website.

Q: How long does delivery take?

A: Normal delivery is 7-10 business days. Rush orders are normally delivered in 3-5 business days. Please note that holidays, backorders, and deliveries to certain locations may cause an order to take longer. Contact customer service for a firm delivery quote.

Q: Are there special oral health concerns for diabetics?

A: Diabetes is a serious and growing health issue. Diabetics sometimes experience more problems with overall oral care, health of their teeth, and gum disease. It is recommended that sufferers follow a strict oral care routine using a quality soft bristle toothbrush, routine flossing, fluoride toothpaste, and regular dentist visits. Cybersonic is an excellent start for all of diabetics’ special oral health care needs. More information is available on our Oral Care And Your Health page.

Q: What is the link between oral care and heart disease?

A: Recent research has demonstrated a link between the bacteria found in plaque on your teeth and such serious conditions as hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) and heart attacks. While the connection is not completely understood, many doctors are recommending paying special attention to oral care because plaque, tartar, and gum & periodontal disease may be risk factors for heart problems. Regular brushing and flossing may save more than just your teeth!
